  • I have one in 7'0 that I really should ride more than I do. Don't have any advice on how to ride it, to me just feels like a lighter looser more maneuverable longboard.

  • I had a chance to speak to Steve Walden about this relatively new model at Surf Expo in January. It's a pretty awesome board and very different from other Mega Magics. The board has the extra thickness in the middle for easier paddle  and ability to catch waves. The rails step on the top and they are beveled on the bottom so they are more forgiving. The nose and tail are pulled in for better maneuverability. The  board is also eps with epoxy resin, so it will be more buoyant and durable. I sold a good friend of mine the 6'10, and he just used it for a week in Nicaragua. It exceeded his expectations. I brought a 7'6 in for myself, and can't wait to use it. If you longboard, but are looking for a board that is better on steep take offs but still has great float, this should be a great board for you. Walden hasn't screwed up too many designs. • That's great info thanks, the thickness and width did worry me a bit and I will def be using this for steep take offs so the that's good to hear. I want a more maneuverable board but don't want to go to small and thin as I'm a bigger guy about 6'2 and 195. I'm hoping this will be a good all around board for me to use in all types of surf. Thanks ill check out your blog

  • I have the 7'3" mega.it took me awhile to get used to it..it catches waves like a longboard and i def. have fun on it..i was thinking about getting the 6'10". the only problem i had was the first time out i was on 2' slop and some how i got a crack on the rail and a crack on top of the deck..other than that i had some serius fun on it.i also had it out in 6-8'. alittle hard to duck dive being 3' thick.lol   where did you get yours?
No matter how hard you train, it all comes down to confidence.

  • yeah its real tough to duck dive, had it out sunday and still getting used to it, cold water extra rubber and new board had me a little tentative but last wave of the day was a nice head high left and made the drop fine on it so hopefully next session i'll start carving some good turns.
