Aren't surfers supposed to be I ray and filled with aloha and jellybeans?
Have you actually ever talked to a surfer?
All this absurd localism is a bunch of garbage. I've been surfing here for four years and people think I'm an ass for feeling like a part of something. I freaking bought a house out here so I could go surfing on the weekends, because I grew up being in the water in Southern California from the time I was 5 and Rockaway just doesn't cut it.
Whatever. I go back home and surf at Huntington Beach and San-O and nobody says boo. Everybody on the whole coast knows EVERY SINGLE BREAK. There are no secrets between Ventura and Mexico, and somehow people survive and continue to surf. They even have cameras on all those breaks and....people still catch waves!
I wasn't trying to blow up anybody's spot. Just trying to figure out what was what in a place where I'm still learning the ropes. Thought this forum might be a safe community to do that. Not.
Still, some of the replies were pretty funny. Especially the Brooklyn Killed Surfing shirt.
