  • Do you need something to put your thoughts down? I have a Laptop that is serviceable, but a bit dated. Toshiba, circa 2006. All cleaned up with a clean system with XP. Hinge is kaput, but screen will stay up. Wifi works fine. We just replaced it and was planning on dropping to Bestbuy to recycle. Has power adapter. Yours if you want it. You can install OpenOffice and off you go.

I'm thankful we are all safe and lookin forward to when we are all sound. I'm thankful for the friends, family and neighbors that have helped through this past month without them I don't know what we would have done. Everyone go surf, drink and be merry, lets deal with reality tomorrow.

  • As has been said, thankful for friends and family. Thankful for my son and fiancée. Thankful to my lawyer who helped me get residential custody of my son this past year. Thankful for my doctor, who has helped me navigate a series of medical tests, all of which have come back with good results. Thankful to have a job, which came at the right time, as I was floundering for a while. Thankful that while our respective hearth's vary in state, we all have our health.

To make things germane, I am thankful to Will and this community, which has been an important resource both before and after Sandy. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope to see you all in the water soon.

  • It's all been said. Happy to be lucky enough to help and not need help. Family. Friends. Health. Happy that those I call friends made it through the worst safely.

The rest is icing. Everybody enjoy the day!

  • After a disaster you almost always here about how locals were amazed at how the community pulled together, how neighbors that never knew each other offered a helping hand and the like. Well I'm thankful for living in a community where that didn't happen - the way people came together in Rockaway was exactly how I would have expected it and, when you think about it, while it might not be shocking that's pretty damn amazing.
