  • Whaddya think will happen to the Cicadas ? Nothing says lazy summer day to me more than the sound of those things rasping away.

    Just daydreaming.

  • Are they salt tolerant?

Seriously though, how nice will the sounds and sights of spring be?!  Just to see things growing...man.

  • I'm aching to see something green.  (as visions of planting, blooming and wildlife dance in my head...)

I've heard sad stories about some of the local apiaries.  We are even feeding the squirrels & pigeons right now...everyone needs a break.

I will be watchful / waiting to see which of our immediate surrounding vegetation returns...

I've never stepped in cat sh!t in Rock, though I've stepped in dog sh!t there more times than anyone should.

I've never had a stray cat try to eat me or my kid in Rock. LEASHED dogs do this all the friggin time in Rock.

thanks for that.  an upside to the storm: it washed away 'dog-poo-alley.'  the downside: right into my basement.

  • well, i dunno if i've been oblivious, but this morning was the first time i noticed the sound of cicadas rattling away.

    apparently cicadas are resilient.

  • I noticed them about a week ago in Long Beach, noticed them about a month ago further inland on the island.
