  • The dogs seemed to take a liking to our bed of Hostas in the driveway.  Try cleaning poop off hostas its not easy, near impossible.  Snaggle put in the request to brick the area, sure is my only suitable response.  It possibly could have been made into a shade garden but not without also maintaining its existence as a shlt pit for the dogs.  So brick it is.  What the phuq do I no about laying brick, if you answer nothing your right.  So an hour on youtube, a little more time on howto.com and I am off to the races.  Poo garden gone, nice washable bricks put in its place.  Started clearing the plot early am and just wrapped up, brick stoke.
    step 1
clear property, good by poopy hostas

    step 2
    finish clearing

    step 3
pick up 180 bricks at lowes, this step sucks, there is nobody to help you load the bricks on to a wagon and nobody there who will help put it in your truck.  Ignore the blue buckets I have to move our composter with those tomorrow.

    step 4
Make sure the bricks are Dude and Miles approved.  Certainly a most critical step.

    step 5
    get yer brick on

    step 6
continue to get yer brick on

    step 7
Bring back Dude for a final inspection before spreading the sand top coat.

    step 8
spread sand, hose, spread sand, hose, spread sand, hose, repeat...

    Brick Stoke

  • your welcome.  Definitely there was a great sense of accomplishment getting it done in one day, the hottest day of the summer thus far certainly made it harder.  Either inspired by my buddy the electrician who was hammering back beers all afternoon while he installed our new outdoor lights or a failure to take into account how much I sweat and a lack of eating through the day, I got my ass kicked by four Sierra Nevadas Pale Ales.  By the time I left to go to dinner I was a mess, oops.  Next time I will just stick with the water and lemonade.  Now time to move some compost.

Now honestly, how many times have you promised yourself, that?

Nice, job.  I need a small similar job done for our grills, one Weber charcoal and one gas.  Wanna bid on the job?   ;D
