  • we stopped at the home depot in freeport - some of them said they were dwarf (i thought) but noted they would grow to 15 - 20+ feet. that's too big for us...

  • Snag those 15-20 ft sizes are left to grow in a field after 10 tears. With proper pruning, small soil volume of a pot they will grow to half that.

For example BB's service berry trees will get that size if left to there own device, but BB has been grooming and pruning them into a walk through barrel into his garden.

Think of it as a semi bonzai project, don't let the fear of a big tree keep you from fresh fruit!

  • we bought a container at Lowe's for $7 that is more than big enough for that tree. What's also great about these lowes trees is that they have tags to scan with your phone that takes you to their website with every bit of information on how to plant it to pruning to....well, EVERYTHING you could ever want to know about the damn thing!

  • Snags you can buy time by getting a container that is slightly larger than the current one that the tree was purchased in, then upgrade after 2-3 growing seasons .

The problem is that they need so many days of winter temps, and full sun during the growing season...so I'd think the answer is a big nope.
