Welcome to the WOD thread, inspired by the SeaCliff 60 Day "Do Something" Challenge!


There are no specific rules - just post up what you did today (or yesterday, if you didn't get around to it) - nothing is off limits as to what qualifies - your workout - just like your results - are yours and yours alone.

Today I did my first WOD.
 
5 pull ups
10 pushups
20 situps
1 minute plank
 
As many rounds as I could do of this in 15 minutes.  Bottom line:  I can suffer for hours in endurance sports but I'm a girly man when it comes to this stuff.  This will be fun! Thanks for the inspiration.
You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.

3600  swim in the short course pool today
8x 200 kick with my duck feet ( to build ankle strength for body surfing / matting and overall waterman stuff)
8x 200 pull on 3 min ( average about 2:40 per 200 )
400 cool down .

FYI for your fins especially if you mess around with them in winter and have a set a size up  for wearing with booties
GYROLL BRAND COMBO heel strap fin sock is real comfy , runs a little big but works pretty good and is only 12$ .

1 mile ocean swim with the jelly fishes/ 1/2 mile super easy barefoot run and my calf didn't blow up.  Bunch of push ups and running drills as well. 
You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.

Today time pressed ratcheting up my studying and need to grocery shop

Long course
400 warm up : bilateral breathing / stroke work
400 time trial max effort 5:18
20x50 on a minute : cool down 80% effort / technique applied to speed work mainly focusing on 6 beat kick better catch( bent arm under body fingertip entry and no dead spot )

Went down and did another 1000 yards all sprints just because I felt short changed

Took a one day break yesterday, and felt kinda recharged today. Got to work nice and early.........and got my ass kicked all day. Eh, happens sometimes. Just one of those days.


Hit the gym late afternoon and took it out on the machines and dumbbells. Abs, chest and arms day. Tomorrow will be a running (and hopefully surfing) day, Sunday it will be back to the gym for abs again and back/lower body. Still totally dedicated to muscle confusion - no two gym workouts will ever be alike if I can help it - esp with the variety of machines these days a little creativity with the dumbbell routines.

i surfed longboard trying to do foot drags off the nose in hopes of sitting down on it at some point.  Caught up with the groms and did a little coaching, got connor into a few.  Went home happy.  Thought about doing pushups or jumping jacks.  Swam with the dogs instead, they had fun, I had fun.  Made eggs for lunch and had a Slurpee later in the day.  WOD.

#WOD for August 3rd


4.2 mile run, including my first stint up on the recently opened section of the boardwalk here in LB. Nice view from up there - really miss seeing the ocean from that perspective.


I haven't timed myself running, but I can feel my pace improving - I'm sure I've picked it up from "Incredibly Slow" to "Pretty Damned Slow". My goal is to be "Just Plain Slow" by Labor Day.  ;) ::)


Anyone know of a local 5K or 10K Labor Day event? Maybe that will push me a bit more...
