  • Anyone drink this regularly?  Just starting it.  Using Bragg's and local-ish raw honey.  I've heard good things...

alkalizing to the body, helps to reduce inflammation, may help with allergies (the honey, if it is raw and local), among others

  • Sounds like a cold remedy. Hot and sour soup has lots of vinegar (and hot pepper). Really clears you up. Tea with local honey, ginger, lemon.

  • Ive heard that raw local honey is supposed to help with allergies but Ive been trying it for years and not noticed any difference. It is delicious however so thats a good enough reason to eat it for me. As far as the vinegar thing for alkalizing the body, I think it's more important to just have a generally healthy diet. All the vinegar in the world wont undo the effects of pizza and beer.

  • Yeah, I was mostly thinking of the alkalizing thing and allergies.  also the prebiotic effect to feed those good microflora in the gut.  Mostly I'm kind of liking the taste and I feel like it wakes me up a bit.  Refreshing.

I'm putting a tablespoon of ACV in about 16 oz of water with honey to taste.

Oh and I agree with Iron Mermaid... healthy diet is first.

    Thanks for the input.

I've heard this from a lot of alternative types... my question for the science peeps is, how does drinking lots of acid (vinegar....acetic acid) make your bod more alkaline?
I dunno.... people are always looking for a magic bullet

Exactly. There are no quick fixes when it comes to health. I'm sick of all these health gurus preaching "miracle diets" and what not. Being healthy only requires a little common sense. I studied all these diets when I was in culinary school. It was sort of a holistic culinary school. What I learned was that all these diets (macro, ayurvedic, paleo, vegan, vegetarian etc) are all bullsh*t. Whole and natural is all you really need to follow. And maybe avoid gluten and dairy if you are sensitive to it.
