  • As much as I favor wind power, I can't help but wonder how wind farms off the coast of NYC/LI would affect our waves...

  •  Converting ocean current, into electrical current would make more sense. Then a wind farm out in the ocean.

  • A generator doesnt care what turns the tubine shaft that creates the magnetic field.Water, Steam, Air.Hydroelectric generators are nothing new..Google it.you spin a wheel wraped in copper or other conductive material within a stator, brushes. {hz=(polesxRPM)/120=current}Ocean currents, tides, rip currents, waves, are all capable of generating electricity.screen the intake to prevent fish from clogging up the turbine or to protect the fish.using plastics, ceramics to counteract the salt water salt water.underwater so that the likelyhood of a tanker hitting it like a wind turbine is less.Ill bet if you google it youll find some african on the congo with an alternator on a raft running a cable into his hut.also sugar, water and yeast heated will create ethanol.but thats illegal.its called bootleging!
