    I find tap water taste varies mainly due to the building/pipes it runs   through. I use a filter pitcher at work {it's awful here} and nothing in Brooklyn or the   bungalow.  Filtering your water is still going to come up cheaper than buying thousands of bottles of water a year. I got my "Cleen Canteen" 2 years ago. I try to never buy a bottle of water, it's just lame.

    I've had mixed results with filters. Some make the water taste like chalk, others like charcoal.
