  • Familiarity with taxonomies/XML tagging, and structuring information for databases.

One of the (several) requirements for a job I'm interested in.  Somebody help so I can lie my way in.  Thanks.  I think I know what XML tagging is but, taxonomies?  Is that like, categorizing info for searchability on a database?  Thanks.

I, sir, am a multi-talented human.  I figure, if I leave the law, I'll just be big and gay, but not an asshole lawyer.

    p.s. you forgot retarded.

p.p.s. Thanks, that's what I thought.  XML is just the code for designing taxonomies (or other web-based content) right?  Like,

    <xml=? vehicle> ... car ... brand ... xyz etc.

  • XML lives in various methods, basically known as SCHEMAS

    different schemas for different applications

Check the PRISM standard via IDEAlliance.org

Then there's NeXTPub and a whole slew of other standards. But you might want to make yourself aware of XMP data, which is essentially XML style tags that can be embedded into actual file headers of graphics files and most all Adobe files (InDesign, Flash etc)

FlipBoard for the iPad uses XML feeds from Twitter etc by converting through and XSLT to fashion prettier layout
