  • 1 session in the past 40 days. Just an awful combo of bad timing and too much work and other obligations. FORTY DAYS. Fark.

I'm going out of my mind.

    Arrggh.

  • Hey Seacliff... feeling your pain.

I've only been able to get out once a week or so since the move away from Rockaway. Did you ever pick up a longboard skateboard? I've been supplementing time out of the water with afternoons and evenings on either a short or long skateboard. It's not the same, and it doesn't do much for paddle strength, but the feel can be similar.

I also use both for getting between work and the subway. Nice to get some carves in before the day's chair-sentence begins. :-\

  • I recently got a promotion so I miss just about everything. Surfing is high on the list.

I'm building a giant tool box so I can get the wheels in motion on the new gig. Once the wheels on the machine are rolling I can get back to my, happy go surfing self. 2 Months at least, just in time for the flat spells of summer.

  • i miss surfing too. but i haven't been in the water since the end of january. 3 more months to go!

still swimming several times a week, though i've slowed things down quite a bit since the 2nd and now 3rd trimester. i do about 2,000 yds per workout down from 3,600-4,000 and much slower intervals.

2000 yards? Interval speed be damned, that's still very impressive for any trimester or no trimester at all!

thanks SC. that is sweet of you to say. it's been a lot easier to keep motivated with my master's swim team. it's been pretty humbling not to be able to keep pace with some of the people i normally swim with as i get bigger (i now swim in the slowest lane!) but i'm still faster than when i first started swimming on my own. kind of makes me appreciate how far i've come.
