  • So, what did you guys think?  I'll give my opinion after I hear some others.  I don't want to sway anyone.

  • Would love to have been there, and looking forward to catching it at some point down the line - have a feeling it was more than pretty good.

It was nominated for Surfer Magazine's Surfer Poll and Awards for Best Cinematography - lost to "Down the Barrel", haven't seen that one either...ehh....next flat spell...  ::)

  • Spoilers ahead!

I loved the Jimmy Gamboa segment and the Curren/sandspit segment.
I don't have any footage of Sandspit in any of my dvd's, i don't think, and it's a crazy wave. novelty points for sure there.

Also loved when Dane Perlee took off by jumping into the wave from the boulder...sickness!
It's always nice to see Joel Tudor not surfing in slow-motion.

Personally, I've had enough of the Tudor, Malloy, Knost cult of personality segments in surf flicks.
I didn't think anything new was revealed about any of them, it's well trod ground already.

Well said!! Stop trying to tell me how cool it is to be so full of "soul" and into the history of everything.  If that's your style and what you like....good for you.  You don't have to talk it up the whole time to try and make people look up to you for it.  I'm into old boards and old cars.....just because I like the way they ride.  I'm not trying to be all soulful and climb up on a pedestal.

By the way, sandspit looks fun and Curren will always be the man.  So friggin smooooth.
