  • Heading down to AC this wknd for bachelor party and never surfed the area before.  I think there will be a rideable bump so bringing my gear.  Please PM if anyone can throw me a bone.  The only spots I'm aware of are the obvious via Interwebs ;D

  • There you go!   If it's on the internet it must be true, right?       Next to any pier or jetty and your good, have fun!

  • Your best bet would be either States Ave. or North Carolina Ave. Remember the crime rate is up in AC so watch out where you park.

  • you can go a mile or 2 to either ventnor or margate piers.  similar waves, no crime.  fairly flat sandbars though.

  • Plenty of great breaks......but plenty of crime.  I only surf AC if we are going in someone else's car.  ;)

  • I would think youre parking your car at the respective hotel, right?  That said, just look out the windows of the hotel at a higher floor, designate your spot, and either walk it or take a pedicab

  • Yeah staying at the Revel.  Guess I'll be bringing my board geared up in and out of hotel.  Didn't know the crime was an issue.

  • I'd head further south if I were you. AC faces a lot more south than a lot of people think and needs a good NW wind. Honestly, there are lots if flat sandbars and jetties in Margate, Long Port and Ocean City. Pull up to a street and you'll pretty much be able to tell where people are surfing. I'd stay away from North/1st Street in Ocean City (packed with aggressive surfers) Otherwise, nobody will give you any $hit unless you're being foolish. If you head all the way to the south end of Ocean City, it's pretty wide open. Lots of peaks and pretty relaxed crowd. I'm biased, though. Have fun!

Yes, it's a big problem. Be cautious, just in general, not just when you surf. Revel is a ways away from the other casinos (at least the ones you'd want to be in) so I wouldn't advise trying to walk alone. That northern stretch of the boardwalk is sketchy, especially after dark. Just use the same caution you would in any city and you'll be fine.
