  • Just had a meeting pop up for 2PM - looks like a slightly later session for me than planned....hoping this turns into a blessing in disguise and lets it develop and clean up a little more...

  • I am going to hit it up after work.  The cams still look a bit messy, but I am hoping for the early evening clean up.

I found this live cam that is only on every so often, but it looks like the high tide has it breaking right on the beach.  Should be better as it drops out. http://tv.earthcam.com/channel/video.php?channel=116469

good call, it sure did.  solid overhead, just that the wind kept just enough north in it to keep things a little funky.  never got really good but no complaints here. still some sick pits and no crowd to speak of...

  • I surfed the break in Deal with the new staircase. I had to head into NYC for a few hours today, so I didn't want to stray too far.

I'm not going to the Happening tonight...headed into Philly for some veggie dim-sum and a VNV Nation show with my husband tonight. My ears are still ringing from the Stooges show I went to on Mon.

Funny, I surf there a lot and almost went there this morning, but on a hunch, I head a little bit south of AP and was psyched that I did.

Sorry we'll miss you tonight, have fun in Philly.

i wondering - do you find that geographically closer-to-the-city breaks are actually closer in terms of time?  It never seem to work out that way for me.  Anything from PPB north seems to take me the same amount of time.  Just curious.

  • The distance from the parkway to the beach is greater the farther north you are.  I think that's why the trip from my house (exit 151) to the hook is the same as the trip from my house to, say, Belmar.  Maybe slightly longer, but not by much.

Closer-to-the-city breaks are closer to my house (15-20min) so during the week it works out better for me. (my house is near the train, I work in NYC)  If I'm not inclined to go to the gym in the event of flatness,  the Home Depot & super market around there open at 6AM so I can knock off some errands or run a few laps at Moss Mile if the weather is nice.

I can haul down to the PPB vicinity in about 25 min if I get on the GSP, but getting out of the water into rush hour kills my mellow.
