Wetsuit repair?

  • Thanks to some dumbshizzle grom who ran me over as I duck-dove to avoid him, the ass of my wetsuit got sliced--not completely, fortunately, just the outer layer.

Solutions for this problem welcomed. I understand from Psycho that there are some wetsuit-fixing products out there. Anyone experienced with something particularly effective?

Many thanks in advance for the sage counsel sure to come...

Yes there are alternatives but I have found it works best and last the longest

Other things I tried (hardware store products)
Silcone sealant, worked ok for a year
Rubber cement and extra neoprene, not so good

Ps what do you want to do with your broken board?

With out a doubt go with the Aquaseal.  There is another product called Goop of something like that that is very similar, but I have no direct experience with it.  The Aquaseal though, I've used on a couple of wetsuits and it works amazingly.

  • Is it new, or sorta new? If so, then send it to the manufacturer. Oneill and Rip Curl have repair departments and the turnaround is typically pretty quick, and the cost is usually less than $50 bucks.

  • Appreciate all the advice.

Yep, the kid tore my shizzle up, carved me a new one (the little bastard). What can I say? (For starterss, thank Jah it was just the suit.)

Crackie, the suit is about a year old. That is, I purchased it new about a year ago (maybe less). Though it may have been a season old model already at that point...

Maybe I should order this auquaseal, huh? Or can it be picked up somewhere convenient?

Meanwhile, my new board will hopefully arrive before this weekend. Stoked, stoked, stoked.

  • Oh, yeah... as for my broken board, well, I guess I should get it out of the bung for one thing.

Other than that, I don't know. Recommendations? How can we have some fun with that fukkah?
