  • This 6'9 was abused, almost criminally neglected, waterlogged deck, open dings, and being transported unsecured in the open bed of a pickup, rattling around with every turn and bump. I rescued it, dried it out and brought it for convalescense to the Lunchmeat home for wayward surfboards. Since the water damage had not extended to the business side of the board (bottom) and the fins were solid, I thought it a worthwhile investment to see if it can be rehabilitated. My only instructions were, dont F too much with the bottom, just patch that part. Lunchmeat cut out the soggy deck--> laminating resin--> resin with fibers ( I forget the name of that stuff)--> q-cell-->glass ( and pigment). Above and beyond he got 2 little lams from the man himself and glassed them on the deck. Took her out today and she is a point break machine, and nicely rockered, loves a late drop too. Big fins, parallel to the stinger, double foiled--- flies down the line..............! Stoked on the job he did and stoked with my "rescue fish" :)

  • How's the weight post repair .
I'm almost ashamed of the fact that I've owned a bunch of fish , surfed them in a lot of different conditions including travel and have never ridden a True Lis fish .
I have a few friends who have them too . I really have to hook up with a buddy when waves are good and clean Out of the ESE w a generous period and try theirs .
    You are stoked !!

Yeah, thats kinda why I didnt want to go the full resto with it to make it look all perfect- I didnt want it to be too heavy and mess with the original feel too much. For a spell while I was drying out the foam, I toyed with the idea of sending it to be pendo'ed since the deck was gonna be cut out anyway, but the expense and logistics involved for a board I hadnt even tried yet made me think twice. It did feel tail heavy when I first picked it up, but in the water it felt fine, not clunky heavy. The weight actually made it feel really smooth on take off and down the line. Its a big fish, so kinda just cruising on it anyway, and it was a good size for the conditions and july 4th crowd. My other option was to just patch and surf it till it died, but Im glad I spent a little dough and got it in a state where it now will be a long time before that happens. Total for the board and repairs was $325 :)

  • nice find! definitely worthy of salvation - must draw lines like a long smooth crayon - if only it had a big fat tailpad covering that deck --
