    5lbs at the moment. Should be around 18lbs when it is done.

    • Team Hammer Rider has been of my back so got some more work done on the board.



    EPS foam is soft as brown trout so I put in a block of balsa where the fin box will be.





    Blocking for the vent plug.



    Bottom skin. You can see the concaves running either side of the stringer. I don't know if they will
    do anything but I put them in so I can call it a HP log.

    Now all that is left is to build up and shape the rails. Glass 2 x 6oz on top and 1 x 6oz bottom.

    I am going to finish it much sooner than I thought.

    Yeah but not too sharp, "I don't know from tails" but prolly gonna work more like a square tail than a true diamond tail.

    • This is an absolutly sick project.  Thanks for sharing.  I am so curious about the rails.  Your said you are going to build them up and shape them, so the rails will be plywood from the outer stringers, out, right? Guess I have to wait and see.  How about the plug...how does that work? Did you veneer the top and bottom at the same time?  Did the veneer "eat up" the detail in your shapping, i.e. the concaves?  Would you shape deeper ones next time?
    Sorry for all the kooky questions, it is just really cool.

    • what kind of wood are the vaneers?  the bottom patch looks like mahagony... whats the light wood? looks like clear maple?...

    you should make a zebra wood vaneer board next time... would definately be a little pricier but cool as hell looking..

    • I think an art deco type of design would look unbeleavable on a surfboard but that would probable take way to much time.

    This is not the design I would want. The broad bold lines and arches could look really cool.
