i just removed center fin from box - the plastic screw plate was broken but is distinctly square in shape - the metal plate that came with the new fin is rectangular and metal and does not want to go into the channel - i assume that plastic/metal doesn't matter, but that it needs to be square in order to get it into the channel inside the box?

anyone have any spare parts lying about? perhaps a square screw plate?!

i'd be appreciative of any advice

around the third week in feb, can't wait :)

celebrating 25th wedding anniversary and hoping to get some waves

my only board right now is a 9-4 tri fin, concave nose - i've been thinking about getting a shorter board, something like a 7-0 single fin egg - any opinions as to whether this would be a better board to bring to pr?  planning to take only one board ...

saw a few mice in the kitchen and put out some traps - a couple of nights later, with the house quiet, i heard some scratching noises in the kitchen that sounded kind of loud for mice - when i peaked around the doorway, there was a f%#* opossum in my kitchen  :o  - saw it again the next night in a back hallway - weird looking animal, but apparently very docile

called someone to bring over have-a-heart traps, but haven't caught it yet - i spent the weekend plugging up possible means of ingress, so i'm hopeful that's the end of the problem

just got outta a mtg in elizabeth and while driving across a certain bridge saw a certain spot absolutely going bonkers. now this was all with the naked eye so i'm not sure excatly what size and form i was seeing but it looked around chest high and reeling for 75-100 yards...

would love to check it out but don't think its accessible due to the "gate" factor. may try to take a look this afternoon...any1 interested send a pm.

I was also driving home over a certain bridge from which certain waves are visible, just before dark tonight, and what I saw looked like a mini, backwards j-bay.  It was hard to see through the rain, but Nasty's post makes me think it was really happening.

i drive over that certain bridge a lot ... first noticed that place going off on a beautiful, clear september afternoon when dennis was offshore in 99(?) ... was on my way to a spot in rock where i got annihilated on my sponge after making it outside

shootout is exciting, but why does one team still get a point for the tie?  that's stupid ... if there's going to be a shootout, why not have it determine the winner?

either go back to the old rules - tie after regulation, game over - or don't award point for tie in regulation

was a good game last night, di pietro played great ... pretty wild when jagr's stick broke in half in the shootout!

great work Bob

the man was absolutely killing it on the longboard :o

he had one of the deepest barrels i saw this morning - i was watching from the beach with SP, jscottk, et al  for a couple of hours - fun to watch, but too big for me to have a go

You're right you're right.  I be suckin' at that grammer brown trout.  Let's do it tonight, or is that too short notice.  I'll bring the dictionary!!!!

don't be bringin none of that corny Funk & Wagnalls brown trout into my house!

OED rules!  Although Webster's Third International is my day to day

Has anyone read The Professor and the Madman by Simon Winchester?  It's a very interesting account of the compilation of the OED.

Cannot make it tonight ...

Me and Psycho are the moderators. Did I spell that right?

yes, spelling is okay, but grammar is not ...

... psycho and i

i can spell a hell of a lot better than i can surf!  not so sure about the drinking part, however - my serious drinking days are long past - would it suffice to do up a fatty beforehand!!? ;D

details forthcoming on where and when?

almost made it out on the booger, but got cleaned up by a set ... tried again, but gave up after five duck dives - given my pee wee herman physique and unhealthy habits, this was no surprise ...

but, i had a good time hanging out with sport pixel, checking out the hot rides and meeting up with seacliff et al

... went back this morning and had a good time on the longboard
