I started surfing 4-5 moths ago. I've been using a foam-top 8' longboard with a lot of good progress. When conditions are good I have an easy time getting up and can manage to do some trimming turns but still working on carving out a nice bottom turn. My problem is that most of the time conditions are not good. Most of the days I go out, I'm the only one on a long board or the only one surfing at all. At this stage I'm just going after whatever I can get whenever I can get it but I would like to make it a little easier on myself. Most of the surfers I've met have different boards to match different conditions. My question is...Does the same apply for beginner boards? Are there beginner boards to match different conditions OR do I just need to suck it up and master the longboard in all conditions before moving on?
