That should definitely make the cut as an entry. Big drop and a lot of tube time.

Hi,

This is an apartment available ASAP. They are dog friendly but it's only 2br 2bath. It also has a small fenced in yard. Good luck.

The MLS number is:

MLS# 2677351

But Mavericks's is a go for tomorrow.

Who are your picks for the final? I'm going with Greg Long, Mark Healy and....

Maybe Twiggy.

Should be fun!

I was at Haleiwa two weeks ago for the Reef Hawaiian Pro and had a really nice talk with Freddy Pattachia.

I told him that I was from Long Beach (I thanked him for the Instagram picture of him on the old boardwalk) and he said that he loved the contest here and was hoping that they would come back. He said that everyone treated them very well and they enjoyed the fan support.

So as far as the surfers go they would love to come back. Now it's up to QS to find the $$$ and for the City of LB to be a good partner.

Contest is off.

Only spot on the NS getting paddle in surf is Waimea.

I'm watching the local news (KGMB) now and they are at Sunset and it is big and sloppy.

They are saying 25-30 footers later so I doubt we'll see them surfing but who knows.

Been to Bali but didn't do any surfing.

Amazing place and well worth the trip.

The first place we stayed was the Bali Masari Villas in Gianyar (http://www.balimasarivillas.com/) and it is very close to the Bali Pro contest site.

The second place we stayed was The Bale in Nusa Dua which is probably the best hotel that I have ever stayed in.

The people are wonderful but the country is very dirty so don't be surprised. There is a lot of plastic garbage.

It's a long trip from NY/NJ so make sure you take at least two weeks to go and my suggestion would be to hit at least one more place while you are there (Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, etc.).

Enjoy!

Everyone was spread out today so any spot you pick will have at least a few people in the water.

I'm in the West End so I would assume that the East End is about the same.

Have fun...

Jayhup - I surfed Minnesota-Maryland and occ drifted over to Connecticut this afternoon 3:30 to about 5:30 - were you out there at the same time?

I walked on to the beach at Minnesota but I was working so I was only able to watch for about 20 minutes.

Wow!!!

I was at the Haleiwa farmers market yesterday and saw them selling shirts but didn't put two and two together.

I did see him guiding a SUP trip a few months ago on the North Shore and he looked to be in great shape so I guess this is something very recent.

Hopefully JOB doesn't throw down with the local Brazilian contingent...

Yes...whiskeymilitia is also good as is steapandcheap.com which is all under the backcountry.com umbrella.

Steapandcheap has a daily gear cache where they have new stuff everyday.

Good luck and stay warm!

www.theclymb.com

You have to "join" the site but they have some good deals on suits right now.

Just finished watching it.

I'm not a big surf movie guy but it was okay. Would have liked to have seen more Dane and maybe a little more Q&A with Ando.

There are definitely sharks in and around LB, EAB, etc. but they are usually Threshers and they are after the bunker.

I worry more about someone getting hurt in a stampede out of the water than I do an actual attack.
