« on: September 27, 2011, 03:34:43 PM »
thanks for shooting your board between your legs while duck diving and into my husband's forehead while he was up and riding. you're lucky i didn't find you when i took the baby on a walk...i want to break your board on your face.
crackie is at the ER waiting for the plastic surgeon.

Not exactly main room material, but I'm too overjoyed not to share here...Crackie and I had our baby on May 18. She is amazing!

Buy and Sell: The Surfboard Exchange on / FREE bookshelves
« on: February 05, 2011, 06:29:04 PM »
one 7-foot bookshelf (varnished pine)
  one 6-foot bookshelf (darker wood)
both in good structural condition, a bit scratched--could use coat of   varnish or paint but okay as is. the dark one will be disassembled like   the lighter one.
we posted them on CL free section, would like to get them out of the house by tomorrow night. short notice but they are free.

this is not my board! just saw this cl post and thought someone who would want an aviso 5'11" doc lausch shred stick might be interested. $525! crackie loves his lost and travels worry free, well mostly.

The NY NJ Surf Garden Center / cornmeal helps again!
« on: March 26, 2010, 11:27:35 AM »
i love cornmeal. i was getting dreaded mildew on my indoor-started seedlings, probably was overwatering a little and also i confess using a starting mix made of things stored in a potentially mildewy area of our bad little seedlings!
a sprinkle of cornmeal, my favorite natural anti-fungicide, anti-rusticide, anti-tomatoblighticide, and now anti-mildewicide. has stopped the little outbreak.

The NY NJ Surf Garden Center / free rasberry bush
« on: March 21, 2010, 02:21:51 PM »
we planted a tiny rasberry bush a couple of years ago that has really flourished. it is trying to take over the back garden. i'd like to dig it up and hopefully re-home it.

anyone interested? 100% FREE! right now it is pruned down to little sticks but it will be about 4.5 feet tall by 3 feet wide or even larger by the end of august. easy to prune back but it likes to send out runners. probably best if you have a nice sized yard.

The NY NJ Surf Garden Center / tree removal
« on: March 21, 2010, 02:19:37 PM »
i feel bad killing a living thing, but we have an 10-12 foot plus evergreen in front of our house that is way way way too large for the little space it has. it isn't healthy and it is UGLY.
ever since we bought the house i have wanted it out. any recommendations on a tree remover? anyone want it?

The NY NJ Surf Garden Center / time to plant lettuce, arugula, etc?
« on: March 19, 2010, 01:15:20 PM »
Should i be putting my arugula and lettuce seeds in the ground now? I usually wait til after first frost but I get the impression people put those early spring veggies in the ground sooner.

to every person who paddled or swam out to free the surfer stuck on the second set of sticks. poor guy was trying to get his leash off but having no luck and was taking wave after wave on the head. pat c had the presence of mind to grab a longboard to get out there, had the guy hang on to it, and dove down and freed him. i think he'd hate this but he is a hero!

this was one close call kids so add a length of rope to the leash tab so you can grip it with you mitt! 1st thing i did when i came home today.

poor surf reporter in FL--pretty much sums it up. on a lighter note, i did get in a good XC ski on the beach.
1:45 pm...    I would like to make an announcement:  THIS IS OFFICIALLY THE PIT OF WINTER.   That is it. I said it. TODAY marks the worst of the worst as far as being a surfer in St. Augustine.   It's cold , its' raining, is small, and it's choppy. Does it get any worse?  Did I mention no sunshine?    Now for the good news.  Like a smoker who finally decides to quit, a stock which has hit it's 52 week low, or a strung out drug addict that finally says no more and means it, it can only get better from here.   This weather and rain and  has got to get better from here.   coldMaybe this weekend...       [/]

Marioville! Sports, Politics, Humor and more... / family resemblance
« on: February 06, 2010, 08:52:51 AM »

for a gal friend, little more petite than me:
something like a 6'1"-6'4"rounded pin, lil extra rocker in the nose but not too much throughout, and a little hip is always nice  :) . and since i'm being picky and specific, if it is 19" wide that is really great too!

if you know my broken haut (sniff sniff) or my orange timebomb then you know what i'm looking for.

whaddya got? bueller?

i know this is unrelated to surfing but i think this is important.
