These guys are heroes. Are you talking about the newscasters?

Time to take matters into your own hands.

Do they sell them at Breakwater? I'd like to know if it would help with my surfing. Thanks.

This is how I imagine the think tank at the NY Times at least once a month:

- "Ok guys, let's think of a news story that has never been done, something that will really be ground breaking and thought provoking!"
- "How about we cover Rockaway Beach, pepper in something about hipsters, the A train and how there's surfing in NYC!"
- "Perfect! Let's put something in there about the hurricane and we got ourselves a story!"  ::)

before you hit the beach, may I suggest a SUP class at your local Y? Just a suggestion.

Almost did the drive to Jersey for the wind switch. Didn't and glad I didn't, fun in the backyard. Nothing like a hot shower < 5 minutes from getting out of the water.

How about all of the relatively new longboarders who think its uber-cool to not use a leash.  Dumb bumblefarks can barely stand up on a board and they are out there without leashes, losing their boards and running people down........don't get me started.

Yeah, if you have to run to the beach more than twice a session you should probably get yourself a leash and keep practicing. Not sure what a lot of these guys are trying to prove, you aren't getting to the nose and it's not the leashes fault you're not getting there.

Empty beach, no one inside, do whatever... seeing a 9' board flying toward the beach while little kids are playing in the shorebreak makes hulk smash!

I say they use TNT. There are very few problems that cannot be solved through a suitable application of high explosives.

Word is the whales were off of Breezy Point this morning - amazing that they're hanging around so long!

Yep, saw them in Rock around 9AM. Breaching and everything, very cool.

A buddy of mine saw a 9 ft shark at the Rockaway Reef a week ago. He didn't catch his name though.
