  • well - they give you ANESTHESIA - so the actual process is no problemo except for the jaw soreness.

i've been taking advil for about 3 weeks now.  does that make me an addict?

  • Just to keep this thread alive, here's an update on the saga.

Since my first visit to the endodontist last Thursday, I had ongoing pain which rose to a frightening crescendo on Tuesday, forcing me to call Dr. Faye for some meds.  Dr. Faye scoffed at my request for percaset.  And, as my dear old endodontist Weintraub was on vacay, my dentist Millstein hooked me up with some Codeine 3.  Good stuff.  But not soon enough.  On Tuesday afternoon, I was bent over my desk with tears in my eyes.

I took a couple of the good pills on Tuesday night while watching "Dog" at Happy's and took another one at 5 AM and didn't wake up for another 12 hours.  Missed work.  Hung out with Boyee during the search and rescue at Rock for the kooky old lady who paddled herself half a mile out and panicked on a perfectly flat day.  Took another 2 hour nap that evening.

Today was my final visit to the endodontist.  I was expecting him to uncap my temp. filling and uncover oozing pus, but all he found was a clean set of roots.  My roots have been nicely packed with gutta percha and I'm good to go.  The novocaine is nearly worn off and no pain.  Supposedly, all the pain was eminating from my ligaments surrounding the tooth.

I plan to celebrate tonight!!!  Whhoooo hooooo...

  • Did they give you really strong antibiotics for the infection?  I think that is what whacked my body out.  My canal was last tuesday - with no problems or pain, but things have not been right with me since Wednesday.  Going on a juice diet this week to help things out.
