Author Topic: Funeral Services for our great friend Bob Runco (NY Local) (Read 1081 times)

As many of you know, Bob Runco, known to us here on the forums as NYLocal, has been battling lung cancer for the past 3+ years. @Jake got word to me this morning that Bob passed away last night.

Bob was a great friend to many of us, always a smiling, good person to be around in the lineup, and a wonderful part of our community. He will be dearly missed by me personally and so many others in and out of the surf community. I'm sure you all join me in sending condolences to Bob's family.

For anyone that can make it:
Services will be tomorrow, Monday, at
McLaughlin Funeral home on 3rd Ave & 97th st in Brooklyn from 2-5pm & 7-9pm.
Mass at St. Anselm at 9:45am Tuesday.

Ill be attending the evening session of the wake and will be leaving rockaway with room for a couple of peeps in the car at around 630. Hit me up if you need a ride

Remembering Bob & thinking of his friends and family. Spent many morning hours in the water with him trading conversation & waves.

So sorry to hear that. Bob was a great guy and will be missed. He used to come down to the surf swaps in Bayhead and we could talk for hours.

How awful. I haven't surfed downtown in so long...I had no idea. I have many fond memories of chatting with Bob in the lineup and sharing waves. Such a nice guy.
