Anxious Contentment

I live on the East Coast in NJ and there's nothing like waking up for dawn patrol watching the sun rise over the water shining through the waves being alone and dwelling on life and nature.

This painting is about that feeling.

Right Past the Light
I love the imagery that surf photographers capture of surfers doing laybacks and really tweaked out maneuvers.  I wanted to paint something to make the viewer feel it and do something that a camera can't do.  I am pretty stoked on how this came out.

Out of the Blue
I wanted to capture a glimpse into the beauty of the ocean's amazing lines and power focused on one pealing wave.
This is a looser style than I usually paint with and I had a lot of fun creating this image.
