  • Not all dentists do it but you can always ask about it. You will need someone to drive you home though. When I had my wisdom teeth removed they put me out it was great. count backwards from 100. 100, 99, 98, 97....Didn't know what happened next until I woke up in the recovery room which I apparently walked to by myself. The down side was I was talking to my dad about an ex girlfriend and I had no idea what the conversation was about. Good thing I was 21 at that point.

does this mean you have to eat soft foods tonight? wanna eat ice cream for dinner?
I knew I would never be hard core. So I tried to be soft core. Instead, I’m just an apple core.

  • Even thouugh the dead is done, for future reference, bring headphones and a ipod or something, 1/2 the pain is in the sound not the actual dead.

  • Oooo Ice cream.  you around?

better than i-pods, my regular dentist plays movies and gives you headphones.

but it doesn't matter for root canals, cuz it's all about digging out those nerves in yer roots with long ass needle things.  no noise in that.  it's more the concept of the root canal that sounds so horrific rather than the act itself.

the endodontist was telling me how strange it was that dentists have the highest suicide rate of any profession.  he knew at least four guys that offed themselves.  other than that, great guy to dig my nerves out.

  • I'm getting one next week - it's not like having a tooth pulled.  It will be fine.  The hard part is keeping your jaw open that long.  But you get some painkillers to take home with you!

  • no painkillers.  here's the myth - and sorry to disappoint mcfloater - but those big horsepills that doctors give you are nothing more than three advil.  this is confirmed by my endodontist and dr. faye...
