  • I just kinda discovered the music of Sleater Kinney.  I always knew about them, but never really made an effort to listen to them.  What a mistake that was and now they're gone.  The Woods is a freakin great album. Ny other fans out there?  What album should I listen to next?  Going on 3 days I cannot get Modern Girl out of my head.

    My baby love me
    I'm so happy
Happy makes me a modern girl
    Took my money
    And bought a TV
    TV brings me
    Closer to the world

    My whole life
    was like a picture
    of a sunny day.

    My baby loves me
    I'm so hungry
    Hunger makes me
    A modern girl
    Took my money
    And bought a donut
    The hole's the size of
    The entire world

    My whole life
    looked like a picture
    of a sunny day.

    My baby loves me
    I'm so angry
Anger makes me a modern girl
    Took my money
    I couldn't buy nothin'
    I'm sick of this
    Brave new world

  • I think All Hands on the Bad One is the best record.  "You're no Rock 'n Roll Fun" is a fantastic song.

  • Elephant: When did you work at Maxwells?

Last Exit: Get "Call The Doctor" and skip ahead to "I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone" a classic up there with L7's "Shove."

  • You might also like Babes in Toyland (pre-Hole Courtney Love). 7 Year Bitch is good too, it's all the same grunge, early 90's riot grrrl stuff.

P.S. I was born in a hospital on Sleater-Kinney (it's in Olympia, WA)...too bad they aren't recording anymore!
