  • what kind of adapter do I need so I can use a second display with my ibook?  there's a port next to the usb ports that has a picture of a rectangle with a line on each side.  I'm guessing that's the one I need but I don't know what its called.  its smaller than a usb and the bottom corners are slanted in.  the other display I want to use has DVI-D and a D-SUB.  or another one has a VGA in.  yes, I'm technologically challenged.  I can't make it to a store and I need to order one from somewhere.  please?

  • The basic differences are VGA or RGB
    You probably need a vga

  • not sure, apple tend to change these things with each iterations. Anyhow on the ibook, your second display will be a mirror of the small one...not a true dual screen like you can do with a powerbook or macbook pro...just in case that's what you had in mind.

  • Not totally true
My old mac g4 could run an external and the main screen at the same time

I believe that MC just needs to run an exteranl monitor.

  • MC, depending upon the input for your secondary display (VGA/projector/DVI) there is a singular cable that you can get adaptors for...

it's beyond simple....but using the VGA port is the simplest. I'll snag you a video cable but you'll need to get the VGA adaptor. Just send me an emil to my hotmail to remind me
