  • I unfortunately am in the market for a new winter suit and was just wondering what guys are wearing? Searched he forum and didn't come up with much. A few of my buddies are wearing the isurus 4/3 all winter but those suits are real expensive. Any feedback would be appreciated

I just picked up a Need short sleeve 2mm, pretty happy with it for $130.

I was seriously considering that one but for a smoking deal on a Quicksilver AK suit from exit98. Wore it all summer and it feels like nothing at all.

When i need another ill check them out again but i did happen to see a  Vissla suit first hand and have to say their insulating/wicking fibers they use in the chest and body are pretty bad ass.

I have a vissla 7 seas 4/3 hooded and 543 winter suit I wore last two winters .
Good suit for the price . More flexible then xcel , not as sealed and def around ankles and wrists not as tight . On waves you get yard sales def issue , but overall I like the suit . Look into the north seas it's the upgraded one they dropping I hear in next few weeks

  • Dorado, do the Vissla suits run large or small? I fall at the upper end of the Medium. Would you buy again or are you going back to Xcel?
The new Xcel suits are using the better neoprene now, limestone based.

I won't pay excel prices I'll buy their booties that's it . My feet go before anything no wetsuit will prevent that . Rather have a flexible suit get out sit in car  change booties or go hot shower at buddies crib . I like xcel but vissla price is right and super light

  • Isurus for the winter suit. Best 5/4 I've owned.

They look good but 700 bucks for their top end suit won't keep my feet from going first .

  • Need Essentials suits are solid for the price.  Xcels can be had for way less money if you look in the right spots:  Left Lane, Seshday, Steep and Cheap, etc.  Get a Drylock with TDC.  Done.

Vissla website is devoid of anything winter it looks like. Did they just run out, or do they not stock any hooded suits until winter?
5/4 hooded looks pretty nice... my 6 year old Quicksilver is about to bite the dust (pretty impressed it lasted that long, actually).
