    • Well I had a great session in by 6:30 and out by 11:30. At work by 12.  Surfed out, plenty of waves and too too many effing idiots. Doesn't anyone work anymore? At one time there were more people on the inside then there were on the outside. I didn't realize surfing really had a slalom  course.

    • like someone said in the other thread, not big enough to keep the fringe surfers away. If it was 9' @ 13 it would have been half the crowd. I still had a great time and caught some great waves.

    • Had a blast, but definitely a TON of idiots. got dropped in on pretty bad and dinged a board i had literally JUST gotten back from the repair shop. super annoying.
    Thought it would be heavier and bigger. BEAUTIFUL day for sure.

    Not big enough, and just as important to thinning the crowd, no drift. But still fun as hell when you could find the occaisonal unoccupied nugget…  ;D

    • Was fun. I got one good one, deep coverup and on my way out got clipped in the head and lost a contact lens. If I had driven, I'd have had another set. Ugh. Early flat light made judging anything else a moot point. No depth perception. Oh well, got a few keepers. Stoked. Yesterday was fun too.

    • LB was more crowded than I've ever seen it...The lifeguards, shuffled everyone into the dedicated spots by 10 am, and the beach was still freakin empty... Then the 2 douche bag lifegaurds surfed the sandbar they kicked everyone out of.


    good waves for summertime though.

    Definitely. A little rip = OH GOD, MORE PADDLING??? for most "beginners."

    Also, is it just me, or have the waves the past few swells been unusually weak? Even that super good day a few weeks ago that barreled basically all day... It feels like there hasn't been much yank on the take-offs, which tends to be another big factor that keeps people out of the water (who should be focused on staying out of people's way...) I've seen so many people just quit and sit in the sand if they get their ass handed to them a couple of times...

    That said, it was a lot of fun today! Especially for July in the Northeast. Hope everyone got some!

    • Was getting a little frustrated earlier.. in at first light and from 6-9 it was a $h!t show. Had to move to another spot down the beach.. glad I did.. glassy, not nearly as crowded and good stoke from those in the water. Unlike the mouthing off, beach arguments, and severe drop ins.. Gorgeous weather, nice size, no drift, glassy conditions.. today was a good day.

    a walk down the beach is so often worth it. after surfing yesterday's, uh, uninspiring, dawn patrol with dozens of my new best friends, i sought less-traveled tracks today. found a spot with a dozen people out at most, everybody more or less competent and trading super fun waves. on the higher tide at first light, it was a little tougher to find an open face, but as the tide dropped, man it got fun. perfect a frames. stoked.

    • Tonight I went to an off the beaten path (by surfers) beach that is hidden in the heart of town.  ;)   It was firing and it was just myself and my son on it.  What a blast.
