  • I like what I reading about the Lost RV, for a small wave replacement for a fish.  I'm about 185 thinking of a 5'9?

    Any thoughts?

  • Just ordered a 6'8  Stretch 2x4 big brother to my 6'4 2x4 . This one has a " nathan Fletcher butt tail " and is more a big guy board . I generally rode pretty short boards for my age ( nothing like Bacon ) but wanted a traveller / paddler shortboard for windy walled up no corner waves like Hercules where I saw a few guys on big upsized boards get a few more corners . Generally In perfect spinning waves I like a smaller board to stay in the pocket . But in walled up " racey CLOSEOUTS " I'm re exploring more rail line to combat the hang in the lip air drop windy day deal

What are the rest of the dims?

  • Needs Vs. wants.

Need: My 50th state quiver needs either a longboard built for some size, or something similar to the griffin rocket.  Too often under-gunned.  That would double said quiver.

Want: I certainly don't need another east coast all-arounder but the bottom contours on this board are ingenious.
^^ I'd like to get my hands on a McCoy for the same reason.

THe shipping costs are probably a bit prohibitive though.

  • Oh and since I'm feeling chatty I would like to have a Tomo. A sci phi or one of those more rounded squashes he's doing. Or heck, maybe a golden mean. BUT the range that they tend to shine in is already covered.

Agh. Whatever. I'd like to surf. Enjoy NJ tomorrow.

I too would like a Faktion mini sim, even though I could use the frocket for my anemic quiver...  :-[

  • -Andreini glider or maybe a Vaquero, although I still haven't had a chance to get this Liddle Inbetweener out, so maybe the Vaq would be overlap.

-John Cherry Simm-21, just for kicks.

    -Fat, wide Hanel fish.

  • Nosemanual, my understanding is that those two hills are different beasts. I imagine the liddle is more foiled and likely narrower?

  • I'm looking at a 7' alb. Air lubricated bottom, by my friend Scott Raymond Henry with a 5 fin set up.  There are 2. Holes going from the top of the board on an angle into a concave bottom.  It's supposed to send a bit of air to the bottom of the board and make it faster and looser. I haven't decided if I want poly or epoxy yet.
No matter how hard you train, it all comes down to confidence.

  • Never thought I would need one of these, but being in my 40s, and having the older S Cal surfer/shop owner talk incessantly about how good it was, I grabbed one of these.

It doesn't like 30 kt offshores, but when you're up and riding the freaking board flies.

    Hey Kyle,

Yeah, I think normally they are, especially with Liddle's more foiled, wide-point-forward hulls.  The Inbetweener, and particularly the one I have, is more mellow.  The nose is pulled in, it's a 2+1 to make going backside easier, it's 22.5" wide, not as bladey, etc.  It's made for more for beach breaks and the guy I bought it from said this one was shaped specifically for east coast waves.  It still has belly and s-deck and (I'm hoping) the Liddle magic.  The Vaquero is supposed to be easier to ride, maybe a little more forgiving and versatile.  My buddy recently got an Inbetweener and he rides it all the time here, for what it's worth.

Anybody else have either board and wanna weigh in?

Oh and by the way, hulls don't work on the east coast.   :D
