  • Lady and I have been looking for a new pup, just curious if anyone on here as used any shelters on LI and had good experience. Nassau Suffolk preferably but willing to hit the city if needed.

  • Town of north Hempstead animal shelter. This is all subjective and depends on what's available, but I adopted one of the best dogs I've ever had or seen from there.

    Why? Just curious - ended up getting my awesome mutt in Greenpoint at a used dog fair, but thought about Northshore.

    Yeah why? Free neutering and spaying, bought our dog w a coupon, she's been an amazing dog for over 11 years, cheaper vet care if you bring them there vs a private practice.

  • We actually got a 3 year old pup this week. Was through a shelter that partners with north shore animal league, nothing but positive things to say. These people have an impossible job so many dogs, cats that need homes.

    several friends had issues and they were treated like brown trout.
