  • There will only ever be one Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz, there could never be another. Bless you, Doc - you had an incredibly unique and amazing life.

    For Joshua Paskowitz's facebook feed:

"‪#‎Aloha‬ my friends. With great Joy I tell my you ...my Father is finished with his mission on Earth. He is resting Peacefully. It could be anytime. A day.. no more then a few days. He fought long and hard. I am so Happy though because as my dad moves into a state of pure energy, my Family has come together and United in such a way..I know that was his Mission in Life and it is Accomplished. I just sit with him and be there with him and face the Dragon... Together. Thank you all for your kind words and all the Positive Vibes that came from our Community. ‪#‎AlohaDoc‬ ‪#‎PMA‬‪#‎paskowitz‬ ‪#‎surfwise‬ ‪#‎surfamily‬ ‪#‎Surfing4Peace‬ ‪#‎sanclemente‬"

  • Sad news.  Won't be seeing the likes of him again for a very long time.

And if you've never seen the movie Surfwise - go grab it off of netflix or something. Really well made and a rollercoaster of emotion!

  • I knew this day would come sooner or later and I would reflect and say i am thankful to him.  Read his book about health and still follow his five pillars to this day. or at least try to.
    Jesus is coming, look busy.

I feel really bad about my inability not to turn every goddamned thing into a joke. Seacliff, your second post made me do it:

Even now, in the hours before his death - resting in peace is blessing. I hope he has that. Having seen too many people die, I can say this - not enough of us do.

As for the comedy, Harry - a little Monty Python is always welcomed.  ;D

you should be ashamed of yourself Harry - you reduce the serious athletic/artisitic/economic life calling of surf into some kind of easy breezy good time past time, something that may be as much enjoyed by scoundrels, scallywags and ne'er do wells as it would its true calling as the sport of kings.  It's not like surfing has any roots in drop outs and drug dealers, right?  Doc himself was/is the model father for all of us fer chistsakes!
