  • joked it at a beat spot for two hours in the arvo.  long straight ones mushed out from the wind.  then switch spots.  night and day.  sick bowls to be had.  surfed into darkness on beat arms, didn't get much but what a sight to behold.

looking forward to tomorrow!  buoys just ticked up to 3

    fish always  ;D

  • Heard rumors of people finding isolated spots working along the 247 miles of the NY NJ area (good for them!) - havent seen any myself, all I've seen is rapidly shutting down lines. But then again, while I looked at a handful and even surfed a couple of places, I havent looked all that hard. Not terribly interested in killing myself today when we're likely looking at more and better stuff to come, so I'm just gonna hold off for the incoming push this evening, and pray the wind stays off of it and everything starts opening up.

In the meantime, the buoys just ticked up another notch...  ;D

i should've strapped you onto a bodyboard and brought you out with me today. so freakin' fun by the backyard.

  • I don't think I've seen anything like this, swellinfo is showing green bars and saying 1-3ft overhead (although surfline did report smaller surf for north jersey), northern monmouth is basically flat!  some mushed out 1footers breaking on the beach and that's it.  i've heard reports of it breaking in southern mon but this is unreal.  tons of folks driving w/boards looking like lost puppies...

Yeah....a small pack of surfers out in back of my house this morning doing.....nothing. Shockingly small, at least at the moment....and the tide is still coming in so it actually may get worse before it gets better, if it ever gets better.

Perhaps it's just a case of a storm who's track pushed the surge more north than west. Or maybe it's just a case of a storm which never crossed the theoritcal 35N65 line and never got square into our "power window".

    Earl, on the other hand........

  • i dont get how i read one person say that it is small and weak and not fun at all, but then another person says that they've had a blast.  how could there be such a drastic difference in different places?
