Midlengths, performance vs. cruise?

  • I'm really interested in getting a midlength, but know very little about them. I definitely want something to get me into gutless waves, but can I have that and also turn the thing?

I'm thinking something around 48-50 liters.

  • There has to be something in here you might like. Seems like a lot of mid lengths. (Not my ad).

Yeah seemed like a weird array of boards but what do I know. Maybe a 7'10 pendoflex is a useful board to have. All my boards are sub 5'10 so

  • What's your budget? I have a new 7'4" single fin egg, volan cloth with tail and deck patches and a 4 finger overlap. It's coke bottle green. I might be able to part with it.

  • I'm looking on the performance end, and light, like an RC TMM, thruster or 5 box. That bonzer is pretty interesting. Who makes those boards? What are the dims of the bonzer? Oh, and not looking to really spend a lot, maybe $400-$450 tops. In the grand scheme of things, probably not a board i'm going to be riding that much.

  • I don't think you can expect to surf a mid length the way you surf a shortboard. better to embrace the midlengthyness and move your feet around.
