  • anyone see it?
talked about bungers and Mike becker.
the article was pretty light, but mentioned cheap china boards and rising cost of materials as issues.

also, it said that older surfers like longboards because they're easier to stand on.
i'd always thought it was becuase they were easier to catch waves on, or because they like that kind of ride.

i learn so much about surfing from the times.

  • terrible article.  there was actually a ton of surfing coverage in the sunday nyt.  article on biarritz--how the jet set have co-opted surfing there; an article on the fusion of yoga with surfing at camps in costa etc; and an article on hb unveiling itself as 'surf city usa' with the us open.

  • Didnt see the article (missed the Times completely this weekend), but speaking of shapers, I've listed Brian Heritage, Mike Becker and Bob Pitagno in the local shapers section of the main site, obviously to be fair need to add Bunger...anyone else we should add? I'd be happy to give 'em the free plug....

  • the wierdest was on the cover of the travel section, there's an article titled 'everyone calm, let's surf' or something
so i'm figuring its about surfing
    safe to assume
or not, because it was about yoga camps
and how sometimes yoga camps or retreats or whatever, are tied to other activities, such as surfing, or snowboarding, or cooking or golf or even eating chocolate.  so instead of 'yoga' in the title, they put surfing.
    ponderous

and i wonder how the local serious yogaists are taking the ruination of their thing, with tying it to chocolate

lucky for them, yoga mats are not a scarce natural resource
