  •       Hey Guys,

Itís been a long time since I posted but I was hoping to get some opinions on a new board.

I have been surfing a fish for a while now but thinks itís nearing the end of its life span. I donít surf as often as I like, probably a handful of times a month, I know it sucks but itís my reality. I was curious on local shapers and who you guys recommend. I surf Rockaway and was looking at JW Falcone, Paul Surf and Bunger. My main question is do you think a custom board would be a good investment if Iím not surfing that often?

    Thanks

  • Let me say it this way, if you are not surfing as often as you lime then you want to make sure you get the most of every session. Being on the right board will help in that regard and if you can spend the time and money with a shaper to get the perfect board for you then go for it.

  • FWIW - I've been getting boards from Nature Shapes in Sayville for the last 5 years.
Mike Becker does high quality work and he surfs local - so he's got a good idea about what works for our waves.
Every so often he runs a $50 off custom board special so look into that too.
