  • I help organize a benefit over the summer that takes place on the beach in Fire Island.  Each year after the event I raise my voice over the need to do a better job cleaning the beach after the event is over.  (The event takes place on the beach directly in front of my home break.)

They've come a long way and now only use biodegradable/reusable cups for drinks and other party stuff. This year I have a budget to buy equipment to clean the beach and I was hoping some of you might have experience in this area.

It's a pretty large area, the party hosts shy of 3,000 people.  Short of purchasing a tractor, which is out of the question, does anyone have any suggestions?  I had in mind some 36" rakes with some sort of built-in basket like this https://amzn.to/2z1aryg, but maybe one of you have a better idea?

    Thanks in advance!

  • That looks pretty interesting. Just a grading rake with a screen for the sand? Plastic breaks and doesnít last. Iíd just get a nice wide metal grading rake. Thatís what we use when prepping work sites to clean out bigger debris.
