  • I saw their ad on Surfline.

  • Take this review with a grain of salt because it is going to be night and day from what you are interested in. I saw Dr. Kenneth Newkirk of Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat  in Neptune last year when I found out I had oral cancer. He was all doom and gloom and just wanted to quote statistics and had a one size fits all treatment plan. Extremely poor bedside manner when we were facing a difficult diagnosis. I am glad I got another opinion at Sloan Kettering in Manhattan. Completely different approach. The office staff wasn't very helpful either in getting pathology documents forwarded to Sloan. The waiting room was very busy so it looked to me they were going for the quantity approach to healthcare. Nurse does the eval. and doc is in and out of the room in 15 mins. Your experience may be different.

I forgot to add that the referral to Newkirk was from a family member who is fellow physician. That shouldn't entitle me to special treatment over others but you would think he might take a different approach when dealing with a colleague's nephew.

  • Nope, ended up not needing it. But several friends did, all said it was either Stony Brook or go to west coast and get it done there. Wingballs is my most recent buddy that had the surgery.

  • I don't think I could live with myself if I went to Stony Brook (LI), y'know because of Billy Joel.

  • It seems weird that my ear closed up after surfing in warm water and opened a week later after surfing in very cold water. Things that make you go hmmmm....
