  • I would love some wetsuit advice! I am looking for a casual wetsuit to wear over a bathing suit at the beach to keep me warm in early summer when the ocean is still cold (55-60 degrees). Do I need to wear a one piece suit, or could I just get a jacket/top to combine with a full length bottom? How thick do I need it to be? I want to be able to take it on and off throughout the day at the beach.
    Thanks!

  • Hi Debbie I would go with a 4/3mm full suit . If you get the backzip models they are easy to take on and off.

Thatís actually a pretty good call. Or buy one of those over the head robes to get in an out easier.

  • Right now at 55 to 60 a 4:3 is good. No need to get fancy with taped seams..water is warm enough for your body to warm any water that gets in through the seams.
In a few more weeks we will be in 3:2 range until about mid june. By 4th of July last summer i was in board shorts.
You should consider getting a 3:2 and layering a thermo liner underneath to give it a little extra warmth. I think you would get more use out of a 3:2 and can then use the thermo layers by them selves for cool summer morning sessions.
