  • I am getting pressure to travel with family to the Yucatan area of mex.  I'd rather not travel if there is no possibility of surf but the fam is pushing hard.  Anyone know if there is surf near cancun?  It looks pretty protected but I image they may get some shorter period swell.  Any help is appreciated.

  • i've been there a few times and sadly nothing. I suppose if you happen to be there during some time of major offshore event there could be something but in the 2x i've been there not a thing

  • Saw some rideable wind slop in Playa del Carmen, but nothing to write home about or bother pay a board fee for.

  • One of the times I was in cancun there was some decent 4 ft surf... Just body surfed... Wouldn't have been able to stand on a board anyways

  • zero surf. Bring swim fins, a handplane and rent or buy a shitty sponge and you might be able to ride some junk.
