Join the New Jersey Sierra Club, Surfrider Foundation: Jersey Shore Chapter and Clean Ocean Action by joining hands against fossil fuels and offshore drilling on May 19th in Bradley Beach.

Hands Across the Sand is an annual international grassroots event designed to demonstrate local opposition to the exploration for and transport of dirty fossil fuels.

With the recent actions by this administration to open all oceans to offshore drilling, this year is one that holds a great deal of urgency. The urgency to act, stand together and make a difference. Joining hands on our beaches, rivers, capitol steps and parks creates a powerful image of citizens saying NO to offshore drilling. Not just for us, but for generations to come. Joining together in this fight is truly one of the most important things we can do in our lifetimes.

Meet under the Bradley Beach Third Ave. Gazebo at 11:00 AM - 19 Ocean Avenue, Bradley Beach, NJ 07720

At 12:00 PM, a crowd will join hands forming a line across the beach. Immediately following the joining of hands, we invite all those who are willing and able, to join us for a paddle out. We will meet out at sea and join hands to show our respect for the ocean and our opposition to anything which may threaten it. Vessels of all shapes and sizes are welcome in the paddle out!

The event will be followed by a beach cleanup to help keep our beaches plastic free.
