  • Anyone got one of these just hanging out they'd like to move or has anyone seen a used one floating about? Thanks.

  • I have a 5'10 twin fin that I have had for about 8 years. I love this board with the T1 vector twin fins.  I take it out in anything. Of the 15 boards I have, still my favorite.  Hope u find one.

  • Found a used 6'0 out in Cali...Super stoked on it if I can make it work. Would love a local hook though.

  • Still looking! Board in California got sold. Looking to get a 6'0 IDEALLY. Might be trading a 5'8 Pavel greenroom Speed Dialer for the right board.

Interested in long quad fish as well- Mabile, Hall, any of the Usual Suspects. - Let me know what you got.

Lastly- a 5'9/5'10 Gary Hanel quad fish too!

Thanks all. Hit me up and lets get you some ca$h for something you don't ride as much, or a sick Speed Dialer under your feet!

  • Why don't you just order one or call JC? Seems like a lot of effort to ship a used board from CA

  • I have that route open. That one just happened to be Perfect and was checking local here when it fell through. And shipping ain't tough with used. Bubble wrap it, box, and stick it on Amtrak freight. $68 anywhere in the country.
Something will surface, I know it.

    Thanks

  • Any reasoning on why you picked that model. Seems kinda like a generic fish to me.

  • It's not. I've seen it work in a variety of conditions. The design is pretty sick.

I would go custom but the wait and the $. I like used boards and the good Energy that comes from a rad trade!

  • Lots of shapers make very similar designs that work just as good or better. Local shapers have that design down due to the fact that's what they'll personally be surfing more often than not. I would always see Faktion out on a quad fish, even on good days, ripping.

But others that come to mind that fit the all around HP fish would be lost RNF, rovers diamond fish, Bunger, Faktion or nature shapes.

  • Yeah. I've been through the gamut. Gary Hanel, Mandala, Pavel, KG, Greg Griffin Modfish, Gary McNeill RTT, Campbell Brothers if you want to count the Octafish, and had my Fun.
Every single one of them has something a bit different going on, some of them have a LOT different going on.
Single to double to V, or rolled entry to flat bottom to V with hard chine rails running from nose to tail. Front foot driven vs Back. A channel that organizes water flow in a Venturi effect effectively providing lift and propulsion.
    My point of all that?
Please don't argue with me. Thanks.

The JC is a 70's inspired shape with a flatter deck than most, a much more parallel rail line, wider tail, and a few other things that make it Super versatile. I'm digging it the most cause at 6'0 x 21 x 2.4 in ANY of these other boards mentioned I would be way over volumed and lose almost all the performance aspects for someone my size.
These are different cause they allow you to keep that size, in fact encourage it, and Most importantly on my end, and the surfing I like to do, open up a lot more rail line for some Nice deep carves.

Knee high to Overhead. Weak or Firing. The board just Works. Differently. The way it planes catching waves is Astounding.
I'm not in a $ position or a patience position for a custom. And again, also really don't feel like arguing over design.

If someone has one of these they're really not riding and would like to score a pretty sick Speed Dialer than I'm happy to oblige. It creates good Energy on behalf of both parties and gives the rare opportunity for 2 people to walk away from a trade Stoked.

Phew...now someone please find me a JC Flying Fish and I hope this finds everyone well surfed and ready to be laced with some warm water tropical energy.

  • Long shot I know but when I have been looking for certain boards I email the shaper and ask if they have any used boards in my range. Maybe you'll get lucky and save money and time.

  • HEY! There's one. Yeah...unfortunately too small. Really sick little board and Stoked to see one out there! Thanks for the heads up and getting the momentum rolling. I took your advice and threw JC an email.
    Appreciate it.
And nice Stamps by the way.
