  • that's awesome! you really aren't missing all that much surf, anyway, and you'll be super strong when you come back. so baby is due late july / early august?

    august 4th is the my due date, but i'm also expecting another window after he arrives where we'll be too busy for me to really get back to surfing very much. i'm sort of thinking of winter break in southern california as the first shot i'll have to get back into a regular surfing routine.

  • Although I have been surfing for a short time, I am a lifelong swimmer. So naturally I use the same paddle technique as if I was swimming. I agree with the "quality over quantity" aspect of paddling. My arms don't get nearly as tired as they used to when I first surfed because I am now more relaxed in the water. The more relaxed in the water I get, the more energy I have not only in my arms but in the rest of my body. There is also less stress on my body and (knock on wood) no injuries so far.
