this is a dumb question, but for the body boarders, i assume you duck dive the body board the same way you do a surfboard to get out? i was messing around with my body board on the 4th and it seems like that's the way to go, but i wasn't sure

Yup, same thing. It can be a bit trickier since you need to put your knee on the tail instead of using your foot. The other bit that's tougher is you can't get the speed you can get on a stand up. Makes it harder to get deeper so you tend to get a bit more worked. But anyway, waves that are perfect for bodyboarding (for me, anyways) tend to break in 6-12 inches of water so duckdiving is a moot point!
