What a great day...

  • I went out this morning at my typical (only) spot. It was flat. Normally I would have just went home. But I had my suit on and figured why not. It was glassy, so at least I could paddle around a little. It was so relaxing. The last few times I went out, it got beat to death. Today was the complete opposite. I probably only caught 3 or 4 waves in the 2 hours I was in the water but it was great!

I imagine that as I progress (remember only been sufing since August), I will get more jaded with days like this. Only going out in waist high or bigger. But for now I am really enjoying the knee high glassy days.

I have been thinking of getting a new board this winter/spring, moving down to a 6'10 - 7'4" and going the short board route. I dont know anymore. I think I am meant to ride a log.

  • There's a ton to be said for small, glassy days - and there's a ton to be learned!

  • eya haha a flat day in the summer i went for a paddle out east on my dads dewey weber 9'6 we got from the 60s. ended up finding a little shorebreak that was like ankle high and it was actually kinda fun for a few hours. it was during a flat spell but the weather was nice and the water was warm, sometimes it just feels good to be in the water
