when was the last time the yanks were 9 games out in july ? did they slide that far last year ?

well, they haven't been in 3rd since 94 or 95...

The year the Red Sux got off to that great start and the Yankees wallowed under .500 they were at LEAST 9 back in June or July. I think that was when they went to Japan to open the season in 2004.
