I am a board whore, if it looks fun I have to try it.  In the endless pursuit of all things amusing I stumbled upon CatchSurfs Beater and Y-Quad.  Curiosity has gotten the best of me and thus I will be softhating at all nonsurfing beaches for most of the summer practicing my fauxalia fade, on a 54" Beater.  New toys rule.  Thanks to Joel at CatchSurf for the info and prompt return call.

what did you think about morey's "the one"?  i was thinking about picking it up to play with the lil guys this summer.

i thought the beater and the one were very similair but was pushed towards the beater by the guys at catchsurf.  They are a bit pricey b/c they are hand shaped not pressed like the bz.  Oh and I have ridden the swizzle in both the 8' and 9' and the are super fun, rode in in HI for about a month straight.

That thing should be really fast. Almost no rocker and thick. Hard to bury a rail tho'.

i think that's kinda true.  having black-ball beaters back in CA when i was a kid, i used to kick around the idea over here.  but those are designed around a specific rule.  the rule here is not nearly as specific and you are bound to be hassled.  nevertheless, awesome fun.

I would be surprised if they let you ride that standing up at a non surfing beach, but it sure looks like fun trying.

Absorbed in my work day blahs, I didn't intend to softhate on your new board onefin.  It looks fun.  And the price is right.  Cheap enough that you can kick-launch it at anyone who dares drop in.
