  • Joe Bauguess , 5'9.5 Simster tri fin coming soon . Narrower , thinner more foil , winged tail twin keel with trailer for more aggresive surfing ,, more spray off turns and tighter arc , more hold off the bottom in bigger surf and overall a little more control .

Ola De Oro laminate (Joe's Costa Rica label when he is at his home there ) . My simmons Dualie is the ultimate mush buster summer board . The simster will be for faster , more critical waves .

Coming later this week detailed reviews to follow :

  • Yeah, I wouldn't figure you'll be parting ways with one of these very soon. I hope to see you in the water so I could maybe catch a wave or two on one of these guys.

  • I feel very sorry for any kook whose ditched board puts a scratch on one of those. Very interested to see you riding that in more critical surf. The twin certainly works in the small stuff.

  • So you're going to have at least 10% of the east coast stock on simms?  Interested to see what the other dims are on your new one.

  • these Joe B boards and lost plank , Larmo versions , even the rusty vesions are night and day from the Joe B simmons .

the derivatives are much closer to reg shortboards or fish and look like they rip. The bauguess models are much thicker have much different carving rails and IMO if you are going to go for a simmons why not get the one that was shaped by the guy who made the original

and buy your own from JOe its much more satisfying

  • Was thinking I would have like one of these in the fun, chunky, shoulder high surf I was riding yesterday.

  • good link , shame RK and Joe Bauguess had their differences and RK completely cut Joe B out the picture , since he made the first few Simmons recreations for John Elwell , the first Mini simmons for RK etc .

the new Rusty ones are night and day different than the ones Joe B is making , although im sure they work great I went with the OG shaper and cant be happier

  • There must be a certain sense of ownership to the shape at the moment.  I noticed Mandala had a quad version up for a short time before he took it down.  Probably worked well with his expertise in hulls so I doubt it was out of lack of interest.  Be done with my own soon but i doubt anyone will mind.  I'm at least sure it will float.
